Job Title: Civic Engagement Intern

Location: Massachusetts, USA

About the Employer

The Nazda Alam Foundation (NAF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Weston, Massachusetts. Its mission is to support the participation of Muslim women, both locally and globally, in social and political processes. The Foundation has hosted voter information and registration events, informational sessions for Muslim communities, and presentations on immigration and legal status issues, while also fostering Muslim community involvement in local elections and the United States federal census. NAF has also offered educational sessions virtually, including with elected Muslim women leaders. The Foundation has produced a documentary on the plight of Rohingya women and children and plans to pursue more educational documentaries, the next one being about Bangladeshi women in sports.

Responsibilities

The Civic Engagement Intern will:

  • Assist in planning and organizing civic engagement events and initiatives.
  • Support voter registration and voter education campaigns.
  • Conduct outreach to community members, students, and partner organizations.
  • Help coordinate workshops, town halls, and community forums.
  • Research issues related to civic participation, immigration, and women’s leadership.
  • Draft content for newsletters, social media, and other outreach materials.
  • Maintain databases of volunteers, community participants, and partner organizations.
  • Assist in documenting and reporting program activities, including event summaries and impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop ideas for future civic engagement projects.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for virtual and in-person events.
